Shelter Animals Count is a collaborative initiative formed by a diverse group of stakeholders to create and share the national database of sheltered animal statistics, providing facts, and enabling insights that will save lives. But we can’t do it alone. We need your help.

Our goal is to enable data-driven decisions to promote saving companion animals’ lives and preventing homelessness.
Data drives the decisions that can help save companion animals’ lives and prevent homelessness. Fortunately, many shelters already collect and report important data. But the time has come for all shelters to collect and report critical data on a national level.
Our ultimate goal is 100 percent shelter participation. Even if you have never shared data before, now is the perfect time to begin.
